The Teacher Bill Of Rights

The Teacher Bill Of Rights

Leave it to the aptly named and solidarity-sporting weareteachers.org to develop the Teacher Bill of Rights.

Depending on who you talk to, teachers are either what’s wrong with education…

…or the esteemed professionals that work extraordinarily hard to do challenging and often emotionally draining work.

It is in that context that the following graphic makes sense. For those teachers that want to be held accountable, but want it publicly acknowledged that it’s not all on them.

That want some autonomy and design with their curriculum and instruction.

That want up-to-date technology, supportive administrators, and–critically–the time to make it all come together.

Does the document miss the mark? Miss a key point, or “demand” something it shouldn’t? And what would a students’ bill of rights look like? Any thoughts or reactions in the comments section below!
